RESVERATROL MODULATES THE 7, 12-DIMETHYLBENZ[A]ANTHRACENE INDUCED OXIDATIVE STRESS IN SKIN CARCINOGENESIS

Resveratrol is a natural polyphenol present in the Japanese knotweed. It exhibits variety of chemopreventive and anti-proliferative effects against different cancer cell lines. During skin carcinogenesis, radical scavenging activity gets altered which are important to prevent deleterious effect free radicals. The study targeted elucidate anti-cancer potential resveratrol 7, 12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene induced carcinogenesis swiss albino mice. Intraperitoneal administration (5mg/kg 10mg/kg body weight) revealed significant reduction (p<0.001) tumor incidence, burden mean volume as compared control group. Also, towards end 10 22 weeks, restored activities antioxidant enzymes significantly treated groups. Histopathological studies thickened corrugated hyper-proliferative epidermis mice similar results were found be at lesser extent post treatment. cumulative this indicate that has potentials modulate histopathological biochemical alterations during melanoma
